Live in sin or go to another state to get married. Vegas is nice this time of year. Makes for a great honeymoon also.

I moved to California from Oregon. Registration fees in Oregon are $30 for two years. I checked into registering my car in California. By the time I paid the fees and got the smog devices and inspections needed in California, it would have cost me over #300. Consequently, I just used my Oregon tags. Then they ran out.

I thought about it and said to my lovely wife, "Let's take a trip to Oregon and check out the land we couldn't sell. While I was there, I re-registered my vehicle. Then we drove by the land. I deducted the trip from my income tax as "inspection of investment property".

All in all, quite a "profitable" vacation.

always,
tony

P.S. California never realized that by being "greedy" they got nothing. Shades of the yacht tax.

Ain't it fun? Doesn't seem to be any limit to the things they can think of to tax. The sixty dollar fee for counseling is really ridiculous. Perhaps the idea is to get us to live in sin?
