All you readers who get Social Security checks, my young neighbor receives $860 every two weeks--and that's after withholding! He, at least, is taking advantage of this to go to college. How many who worked for 40 years get that sort of money 12 times a year instead of 26? How many working aren't bringing home $430/week after taxes? I expect there will be a blood bath for the Democrats in November, but I also doubt that the Republicans will understand why it happened. It will be business as usual, just at a slightly slower pace.
