Correction
..."our current government is NOT operating within the confines"....
..."a constitutional republic is NOT a perfect form of government"...
 My appologies.

I still believe in the Constitution. I still believe these states united to form America can restore the republic for which it stands. I have no illusions that our currnet government is operating within the confines of the Constitution or are even giving it lip service. I also have no illusion that a constitutional republic is a perfect form of government, but I do believe that it is the best model available. Most importantly I believe that we stand upon a great precipise. A single step away from losing the Republic of America.
Many years ago I took an solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. To defend the Constitution, not the government, not the court rulings, not the pompous arrogant fools that have led us to the precipise. Liberty, the exercise of freedom, demands of its practioners sacrifice and vigilance. I'll stand beside you or against you, but stand I will. Restore the Republic.

Fantastic, Dave. You deserve a longer answer and will get one, but if I don't put my weary body in bed I'll be typing with my nose.

Dave,

As I read your article I imagined liberal refrains of "See, how do you like it?" or "That is how blacks, the poor, illegals, ______, etc see America." The "disenfranchised" have never experienced life without “slavery”.
I was BLESSED to be born to very hardworking, patriotic and decent people. While I can echo the sentiment of being less hopeful and gravely concerned, caution should rule the day. Months ago I posted somewhere about the “puppet strings” being strung through the culture and economy. How laughably naïve I was. They are not strings, but fine gauge piano wires which will go great damage when pulled tight. The unscrupled (for lack of a better term) on both sides (left/right or Dem/Rep) are facilitating this usurpment of the peoples' power by rabble rousing, singling out groups, (rich, poor, Wall Street, bankers, unions, etc.) and outright misleading EVERYONE! November will be here soon and with luck and hard work some changes may be made that will slowdown the rate of destruction. At the state local levels some serious messes are brewing, especially here in CA. Seriously under funded pensions, over promised benefits to individuals, cities, teachers, students, municipalities, etc. just to name a few. We can’t all run to the woods. The problems will be there too, sooner or later.~C

You mean you actually believe that the US is still operating under the constitution????? Wake up and smell the BS. The US government gave up even attempting to hide the fact that the constitution is a dead letter this go around. Remember the contracts called bonds that US auto makers sold and were under contract to pay back, even if it meant selling off their assets? Remember how under the reasoning of getting the US economy back in order they negated them, leaving the lenders out in the cold, against so called standing US laws? They not only don't care about the constitution, they don't even care about any laws at all. It's whatever they want to do to get re elected. The American people have become so cowed that they roll over and wet themselves when told to by those they elect. It is after all, "for our own good".

The lust for power and hence control. Slavery is alive in well in America. Today we are not bound by chains but taxes.
That I will end up living in the woods is a foregone conclusion. The only question is why. Whether the result of wanting to exercise a bit of liberty, avoiding capture from an oppresive government, or as a result of impoverishing economic policy, the result is the same. I am in the woods.
Without real hope, is when I'm most dangerous. It's when we all are most dangerous. It's when we stop bickering over the scraps of liberty guaranteed by the Constitution and start spilling blood for unlimited freedom. Restore the Republic.

Is this the 'sterile' article you promised? Who (and why) is the question I have been asking for more than 2 years. I am a 'little' person. Just worrying about my small piece of the world and taking care of my family (2 girls). Too many people don't even know what makes a ponzi scheme a ponzi scheme. Off loading responsibility, even the small stuff puts you at risk. Anyone saying "Trust me" can't be trusted.
It all boils down to "What is the purpose of Life?” If you believe we just exist, this is what you get: everyman for himself, exploiting the fools born every minute. The trickster has had his day. Today I am ashamed of being an American, not because Az has passed a law trying to deal with illegals, but because our "leaders" political and industrial have been seduced by the darkness.
Which makes me wonder… How do you break a deal with the Devil? ~C
